                                Advising

Welcome to the Biology Undergraduate Advising Website!

The MGB 236 Advising Office coordinates undergraduate advising for all Biology majors.  Biology majors are required to meet with an advisor every semester and should schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor each semester; click here for more information.  Exceptions to this policy include the following:

  • If you are a new transfer student who intends to begin taking classes at ODU in the spring of 2013, you should either attend Transfer Preview or a Biology Transfer Advising Session.

  • If you are a declared Biology major who has attended ODU for at least one year, have a GPA of at least 2.75 and complete a DegreeWorks plan for one full year (Summer 2012, Fall 2012 and Spring 2013), your hold will be removed for one full year upon meeting with an advisor.

  • If you plan to graduate in May or August of 2013, you should attend a Graduation Advising Session  instead of walk-in advising.  Your advising hold will then be removed so you can register for your final semester.
