Research Interests:

1.Cytology of Isoetes -- working with undergraduate and graduate students to obtain chromosome counts in species of quillworts.

2. Contribution to Atlas of the Virginia Flora --a long term project to note occurrence and distribution of native and naturalized vascular plants in Virginia--working with several field workers to verify plant identifications.

3. Cytological & Morphological Investigations in the genus Isoetes. Teaching graduate & undergraduate students techniques which are applicable to a variety of organisms in addition to Isoetes. Teaching them the process of scientific investigation, etc.
