Research Interests

Benthic fauna disturb marine sediments through the construction and maintenance of tubes and burrows, mucus release, mobility, feeding, and defecation. I am interested in factors that drive faunal response to such bioturbation, which may postively or adversely affect benthic assemblage structure in soft sediment environments. Other research interests include food web dynamics utilizing stable isotopic analyses, invertebrate benthic taxonomy, and microbial benthic ecology.
