All students in the Oceanography graduate program are responsible for reading and understanding the regulations and policies set forth in this document and in the University Catalog regarding requirements for graduate degrees.
The Graduate Program Director (Professor Fred C. Dobbs, room 443 Oceanography/Physics Building, phone 757.683.5329, e-mail fdobbs@odu.edu) answers questions concerning degree requirements, financial aid, etc. and approves pertinent forms and applications. The Admissions Committee is comprised of five members of the graduate faculty in the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, including the Graduate Program Director (GPD) who serves as committee chairman. This group reviews applications to the program, recommends admissions, and makes nominations for departmental financial aid.
