| As a native to Norfolk with constant reminders of the ever-growing human footprint on the Chesapeake Bay, I am strongly interested in marine resource conservation. More narrowly, I am interested in the role that phytoplankton play in maintaining healthy ecosystems in the face of issues such as climate change, eutrophication and proliferation of harmful bloom forming species. Currently I'm working on projects involving phytoplankton dynamics in a high CO2 world, and I would like to extend that work to natural phytoplankton communities in the Chesapeake Bay. |
