| I am currently a candidate for a Ph.D. degree in Biological Oceanography. My research is related to the microbial ecology of ships' ballast water. More specifically, my dissertation project is entitled 'Transfer of Antibiotic Resistance Via Horizontal Gene Exchange in Ships' Ballast Water'. My contribution to this project was funded by an EPA STAR Fellowship (2001-2004) and is currently supported by the National Sea Grant College Program. |
