Abstract
We investigated scales of variability in Hoffler Creek, an urbanized estuary entering Chesapeake Bay. Biogeochemical parameters were highly variable, and dependent upon regional and localized climatic events. After summer drought, rainfall supplied most of the nutrients into the creek. Nutrient addition experiments will assess biotic responses to nitrogen and phosphorus addition.
