Driving Directions to Earth Day/Open House in the Oceanography and Physics Building on April 21, 2006
FROM WILLIAMSBURG:
Take I-64 East to Norfolk. Drive through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Approximately 6 miles after leaving the tunnel, you will see a sign saying, "To Terminal Boulevard, To ODU / Next Right". As you bear right, there will be another sign, "I-564 / To Terminal Boulevard / To Naval Bases". Follow Terminal Boulevard until you reach the third traffic light, where Terminal Boulevard and Hampton Boulevard intersect. Turn left onto Hampton Boulevard and follow until you reach the 12th traffic light. This is Hampton Boulevard and 43rd Street, the entrance to the university.
FROM VIRGINIA BEACH:
Take 44 West to Downtown Norfolk. This highway turns into Waterside Drive. Follow Waterside Drive for several blocks, which turns into Boush Street. At the intersection of Boush and Brambleton Avenue make a left turn onto Brambleton. Move into the right lane. You will see a sign that says to "ODU". Merge with the traffic onto Hampton Boulevard. Follow Hampton Boulevard approximately 3 miles. The university will be located on your left at the corner of Hampton Boulevard and 43rd Street.
FROM CHESAPEAKE:
Take I-64 East toward Suffolk (from Deep Creek area, take I-64 West). Take the I-464 exit to Downtown Norfolk. Stay left on the Berkley Bridge, avoiding the I-264 exit, and take the Waterside Drive exit on the right once you cross the bridge. Follow Waterside Drive for several blocks, which turns into Boush Street. At the intersection of Boush and Brambleton Avenue make a left turn onto Brambleton. Move into the right lane. You will see a sign that says to "ODU". Merge with the traffic onto Hampton Boulevard. Follow Hampton Boulevard approximately 3 miles. The university will be located on your left at the corner of Hampton Boulevard and 43th Street.
TO THE OCEANOGRAPHY AND PHYSICS BLDG. AND PARKING INFORMATION
Once on Hampton Boulevard and 43rd Street at the stop light onto campus (43rd Street). Take 43rd Street to Elkhorn Avenue turn right onto Elkhorn Avenue just past the parking garage. Our building is immediately on the on the right, you will see the back of the Oceanography and Physics Bldg. You can load and unload people there on the sidewalk and enter through the back or side doors. Bus and car parking will be in lots 54 and 55.
There will be parking signs marking the lots as well. Once on Elkhorn after unloading guest go straight until you get to the stop sign then turn left onto 49th Street. From 49th Street make a left on Powhatan Avenue, and then make a left back onto 43rd Street. The parking lots 54 and 55 are right on the corner of 43rd Street and Powhatan Avenue.
