Physics Department Open House

Undergraduate physics majors are invited to visit the Physics Department at Old Dominion University to attend a special colloquium:
"When Stars Attack: Radioactivity as a Signature of Nearby Supernova Explosions"

Please join us starting at 10:00 AM for tours of our research laboratories, a pizza lunch with faculty and students, and presentations on our research. Physics research topics at ODU include the quark structure of matter, atomic collisions, molecular interactions near absolute zero, quantum phase transitions in ultra cold atomic gases, and the material properties of the historic ships USS Monitor and CSS Hunley.
Following the Colloquium there will be ample time for student attendees to meet with individual faculty members to discuss research projects as well as graduate school opportunities.
