Financial Aid and Tuition

Old Dominion University offers financial assistance to qualified graduate students. Types of aid include research and teaching assistantships, fellowships, grants, scholarships, and part-time employment. Nearly all forms of aid require that the student be engaged in full-time graduate study.

Grants may be available in amounts from $100 to $1,000, fellowships for $12,000, and assistantships from $12,000 to $15,000 or more. Departmental funds may affect fellowship and assistantship amounts; establishment of need and academic promise affect some grant amounts. Minority student grants and fellowships are also available. Tuition is waived for students enrolled in full-time study in the doctoral program who are employed as teaching or research assistants.

In addition, the program tries to support students on such graduate teaching assistantships, research assistantships, grants, and contracts.

In addition to the financial aid offered by the University, graduate students may be eligible for aid administered by other agencies.
