Research Interests:
Dr. Major's research primarily focuses on career development issues. She is interested in work/family conflict, developmental relationships at work, barriers to the career development of women and minorities, and teamwork. As the principal investigator of a National Science Foundation grant, she is engaged in a major research initiative examining career barriers to women and minorities in the information technology field. She is also presently studying the reciprocal relationships between children's health and parents' employment. In addition, she is involved in research on teamwork processes in distributed teams.
