Dean Receives International Fiber Society Founders Award


Richard V. Gregory, dean of the College of Sciences at Old Dominion University, was recently selected by the International Fiber Society to receive their prestigious Founders Award. He was presented with the award during the society's international technical conference at Cornell University this past October where he gave a presentation on his pioneering work.

Gregory received the award "in recognition of his fundamental contributions to the development of all organic electro-active and photonic polymeric devices for applications to fibers and thin films." He gave a presentation at Old Dominion recently on his research and has been invited by the Society to lecture at several universities spring 2005.
