| Back to Student NewsTop Scholar for December 2004 CommencementSix Old Dominion University graduates were recognized as outstanding scholars during the commencement ceremonies on Dec. 19, at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. At a luncheon on campus on Dec. 18, the Alumni Association presented them with Outstanding Scholar Awards. These awards are given to the student with the highest grade point average in each college. Also recognized at the luncheon was the Old Dominion faculty member who most inspired the student. The top scholar for the College of Sciences and her inspirational faculty member is: Sciences - Sarah A. Parrish of Hampton, a mathematics major with a 3.99 GPA Dr. Przemyslaw Bogacki, associate professor of mathematics and statistics, was named by Sarah as the faculty member who most inspired her.
