Summer/Fall 2013: New Transfer Students

Advising Sessions

Welcome new transfer students!  Please review our New Transfer Student Checklist to ensure a smooth transition to ODU.  You may have noticed an advising hold on your student account and must meet with an advisor before you will be able to register for classes.  We strongly recommend that you attend Transfer Preview, where you will have the opportunity to learn about academic programs and campus resources, and meet with an academic advisor to review the curriculum for your intended major and register for summer/fall classes.  Students transferring fewer than 24 credit hours are required to attend Preview.

We understand that some students may be unable to attend Transfer Preview; if you are transferring 24+ credit hours but are unable to attend Transfer Preview, you must meet with the advisor for your major before you will be able to register for classes.

  • Biology majors who have more than 24 credits and are unable to attend Transfer Preview should email Tammy Hanna, Transfer Advisor.
  • Psychology majors who are unable to attend Transfer Preview should attend a Psychology Major Declaration Session.
  • Transfer students who intend to pursue any other major in the College of Sciences (Chemistry/Biochemistry, Computer Science, Math/Statistics, OEAS, Physics) and are unable to attend Transfer Preview should contact the Chief Departmental Advisor for their major for advising.

Please complete the New Transfer Student Checklist before attending an advising session.  Contact Tammy Hanna, Assistant Director of Transfer Advising, with any questions.
