Information for

Prospective or Intended Transfer Students

We understand that making a decision about which institution of higher education is the best fit for you can be daunting; our goal is to make the decision to attend and transition to ODU as seamless as possible.  We strongly recommend that students interested in transferring or who intend to transfer to ODU to pursue a degree in the College of Sciences should attend a Transfer Student Interest Meeting at least one semester prior to transferring.  This includes students who have signed a Letter of Intent to participate in the Guaranteed Admission Agreement with the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

Interested in Transferring to ODU?

To see if a College of Sciences degree program is a good fit for you, you can review curriculum sheets  for each of our majors (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Ocean and Earth Science, Physics, Psychology) to get a better understanding of degree requirements and course offerings.  To see how courses taken at other institutions will transfer to ODU, visit Monarch Transfermation, our online transfer equivalency database.  If you plan to transfer from a VCCS school, you can also review the VCCS Transfer Guide, which lists ODU's general education courses and their course equivalents at Virginia Community Colleges.

If you have additional questions about the College of Sciences's undergraduate programs,  contact Tammy Hanna, Transfer Advisor.

Questions about how your specific credits will transfer to ODU or transfer equivalencies for courses not listed in Monarch Transfermation should be directed to Transfer Evaluation Services.
