The Mag Lev takes shape!

Over the summer the Mag Lev rose up from our sidewalk.  Below are a series of pictures taken outside of the Oceanography/Physics Building as the construction progressed.

The Mag Lev support columns have a core of steel for support.

Once the steel support are in place a worker readies to pour the cement.

A jacket to hold the cement encircles the steel supports.

As one column is prepared for cement the workers move down the line to the next one.

A worker inspects the forms before the cement is added.

Once the cement has been poured into the form the column is left to cure.

Once the columns are complete the cross-beams are added.

All that's left to do is paint.

The finished product.
