John Heinbockel, who taught for Old Dominion University for 34 years, was recently awarded the title of Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Statistics.

Bill Dunstan, Eminent Professor, retired on January 1, 2002 after 22 years of teaching, researching and serving the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and the University as chair of the department and as vice president for Research and Graduate Studies for many of those years.

Kent E. Carpenter and William J. Resetarits, Jr., both from the Department of Biological Sciences, were granted tenure effective with the spring 2002 semester.
