The 2002 series is “Emerging Scientists.” Each of our 7 departments has invited an outstanding scientist from one of its disciplines. Each distinguished visitors will have received a prestigious national award such as the NSF Faculty Early Career Development, NSF Presidential Early Career Development, the Dryfus (teacher-scholar) award or the equivalent in her/his field. The focus is the interdisciplinary nature of the sciences; thus, this series brings together faculty and students from all disciplines to participate and interact in a myriad of topics.
