Picture This!


Most of us have seen pictures of icebergs, huge floating masses that few actually see except in magazines or books. Ever wonder what an iceberg looks like from top to bottom?

This picture was taken by a diver for the Global Marine Drilling Company in St. Johns, Newfoundland. The company had to divert the path of this iceberg away from their rig by towing it with ships! In this particular case, the water was calm and the sun was almost directly overhead thus allowing the diver an opportunity to get into the water and take this picture. They estimated the weight of the iceberg at 300,000,000 tons.
