A Summer Travel Log
Wouldn’t it be fun to experience the exotic lands that some of our faculty do during the summer? Where would you like to travel if you could choose any location in the world?
How would Australia, Tasmania and China do for starters?
Excellent! Scire will bring a travel log complete with pictures and field notes to its readers as things are sent to us. This means, that if all internet hook-ups are in place, all digital and computer equipment work properly, we expect to provide you, the reader, with a trip-in-progress. This trip won’t cost you a cent or time away from work. This excursion should prove interesting as a chemistry faculty member assumes the travel, physical risks and barriers.
Dr. Ross Edwards, assistant professor, left July 5, 2002 for Australia. Huge containers, such as the one pictured below, were shipped with the expectation that Edwards and equipment would be reunited again halfway around the globe. Edwards will then hike to higher elevations where he and his research team will take samples of the atmosphere for particle studies.
