Christening of the R/V Fay Slover
On October 1, 2002 the University christened its new research vessel, Fay Slover. The event was held on the pier at Nauticus.
Although this is the third research vessel the College of Sciences has had, this is the first new one built just for the scientific mission of the college. Over the last year updates on the construction progress have been posted in Scire with full descriptions of size, draft and speed. This time, you get the real deal!
R/V Fay Slover arrives! On September 24th, a small group celebrated its arrival. Tom Royer helps Frank Batten IV christen the R/V Fay Slover as President Runte, Frank Batten and Tom Isenhour watch.
