Ron Johnson has been with Old Dominion since 1968. He was one of the first three that the Institute of Oceanography hired when the department was founded under Jacques Zaneveld. He has served the Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, college and university in many capacities including assistant dean of graduate services, associate director of graduate studies and Phi Kappa Phi coordinator. He was recently designated as a University Professor.
