Wedding Under The Stars

It was mid-day on a hot and bright August Saturday, but a Virginia Beach couple still managed to say their wedding vows under the stars. The cool event was made possible by Bruce Hanna, astronomy instructor in ODU's Department of Physics who is the director of the Mary D. Pretlow Planetarium on campus. A friend of his, Mary Wazlak, who was Mary Denyes a few years back when she served as Elderhostel Supersite coordinator for ODU's Program for Continued Learning, arranged the wedding site for her daughter, Amy. "In my 30-some years as planetarium director, I have never seen a wedding under my stars," said Hanna. In the photo, the bride and groom, Alan Neronski, pose with Hanna.
