APA Compliance Sources

Domain G of the American Psychological Association Guidelines and Principles for Accreditation of Programs in Professional Psychology  requires that  doctoral graduate programs provide accurate information on the program to current students, potential applicants, and the general public. This information is meant to describe the program accurately and completely, including education and training outcomes, and to be presented in a manner that allows applicants to make informed decisions.

Effective January 1, 2007, the information required includes time to completion; costs, funding amounts and sources; policy on self-disclosure; internship acceptance rates; and student attrition rates.

  • Time to completion data can be found at Program Data.

  • Program costs, funding information about assistantships and stipends can be found at Application Info, Financial Aid, with a link to Student Budget

  • Program's policy on self-disclosure can be found at Application Info, Policy on Self-Disclosure, and in the application materials at Read This First.

  • Internship data for the most recent seven years, including the number and percentage of students who obtained internships (paid or unfunded, from APPIC member programs, and from APA or CPA accredited programs) is available at Program Data; see also Recent Internships.

  • Student attrition for the past seven years is included in a table found at  Program Data.  Included there also are data on the latest applicant pool and  recruited class, the number of graduates and average time to completion and the number of students attrited during the last seven years.
