Practicum Training

Development of clinical skills through supervised experience is a crucial component of training. Virginia Consortium students complete a systematic sequence of eight supervised practica.

Practicum placements are arranged to assure exposure to several settings and populations. Sites regularly used include mental health centers, hospitals, public school systems, a veterans' medical center, university counseling centers, social service agencies, clinics, psychiatric hospitals, children's residential treatment facilities, specialty services (neuropsychology-rehabilitation and sleep disorders), and private practices.
