Philosophy
Practicing clinical psychologists are best educated as practitioner-scientists. Scientific knowledge and methods form the foundation for effective clinical service. Productivity for clinicians and researchers alike involves articulating current problems and issues, formulating creative solutions, and validating hypotheses by the systematic gathering of empirical evidence. Continuing professional development requires the ability to critically appraise the scientific merits of new theoretical and empirical developments in the behavioral sciences.
