The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a full range of graduate and undergraduate programs designed to produce applied mathematicians, statisticians and teachers who are equipped with the analytical and computational skills necessary to compete and serve in today’s technological society. The department has recently moved into its new home, the Engineering and Computational Sciences Building, which it shares with Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering and the University Computer Center. The department shares faculty and graduate students with the Center for Computational Sciences which oversees interdisciplinary research projects involving modeling, simulation and large scale computation.

All in all, the educational experience at Old Dominion University is contemporary and challenging with a strong emphasis on applying mathematics and statistics to current day problems.
